Aberdeenshire Council is committed to supporting all autistic children and young people to flourish in education and achieve their full potential.
All staff at our school have completed the following training provided by Aberdeenshire Council. Any new member of staff who begins at our school will also complete these training courses.
Understanding and Supporting Autistic Learners: Universal Autism Training This training comprises of 5 distinct modules which are outlined below:
- About Autism, We were expecting you
- Cognitive Theories
- Communication
- Understanding Sensory Behaviours
- Anxiety
Understanding Sensory Behaviours. These were created collaboratively by Educational Psychology, education establishments and NHS Occupational Therapy to enhance practitioners’ understanding of sensory needs and how these can be supported in education.
